What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

At Lapine Family Chiropractic, we use a variety of adjusting styles which include, but are not limited to:

Given mainly to the spine, a chiropractic adjustment involves using the hands or a device to apply a controlled, rapid force to a joint. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used are the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint. This sound may be interesting, but is not a guide as to the value or effectiveness of the adjustment. The goal is to increase the range and quality of motion in the area being treated and to aid in restoring health.
